Who we are

Wildlings Wood is a living dream—rooted in family, guided by nature, and growing with care.

We moved here in January 2021 as a family of five, drawn by a deep longing to live more simply, more slowly, and more in tune with the Earth. Our youngest daughter arrived just a year later, in January 2022.

Since then, we've poured our hearts into tending this land. We began by clearing the rubbish left behind, breathing life back into neglected corners, and slowly restoring the health of the soil. With each seed planted, each bed built, and each wheelbarrow of compost spread, the garden began to thrive—and so did we.

Hayley trained in permaculture with Aranya and Pat Bowcock at Ourganics, where she was deeply inspired by Pat’s comfortable, simple off-grid lifestyle and her gentle, grounded wisdom. That experience lit the path for much of what we now practice and share at Wildlings Wood.

Mark’s journey with Qi Gong led him to train under Shi Heng Yi at the Shaolin Temple Europe, where he immersed himself in the ancient movement practice that now forms the heart of his woodland sessions—rooted in breath, stillness, and flow.

In 2023, we opened the woods to the wider community with our Forest Club for home-educated children. It’s been a joy to watch the woodland echo with laughter, curiosity, and muddy boots. We’re now expanding our offerings to include workshops in traditional crafts and off-grid skills, sharing the knowledge we’ve gathered and the wonder we’ve found along the way.

Wildlings Wood is more than a place—it’s a way of being. A space to remember, reconnect, and rewild. Whether you come to play, to learn, or simply to breathe among the trees, you’re warmly welcome here.
